Pregnancy is a chance a woman gets in her life to discover her body and learn how to protect it. She can combine the best care for her baby (which starts during this magical period and continues after birth) with skin on skin, breastfeeding and all the love she can bring to her little treasure. My aim is to make this journey as smooth as possible for her and her baby.
Pregnancy, childbirth and the following recovery is a sacred time in a woman’s life. Your body modifies itself and everything should be nicely orchestrated to face these major changes. However, things don’t always go to plan: weight gain, hormonal changes, lack of exercises, previous trauma or injuries, complicated births can all lead to pain, dysfunctions, damage of the structures that support your body such as ligaments and fascias and pelvic floor muscles.
My role is to educate you and guide you through what deserves to be a beautiful journey. You will be able to fully experience it, prevent as much damage as possible and enhance your recovery.
I also treat any dysfunctions that lead to pain and stiffness during pregnancy and after birth.
Here is what I offer to women during their pregnancy:
1. Pregnancy
1.1 Treatment:
Back pain (neck, mid, low back):
1.2 Education:
Pelvic floor muscle Assessment
1.3 Prevention Program:
This is a unique program covering the whole pregnancy (from conception through birth until approximately 3 months after birth, or as long as required).
It includes a thorough assessment and individual treatment that identifies the risks you may be exposed to, as well as an educational program covering the whole period of pregnancy to 3 months onwards.
My techniques include yoga and postural approaches, as well as physiotherapy and myotherapy knowledge, together with my own experience of having three children (all active births).
The sessions can be chosen separately according to your needs:
2. Birth attendance:
I have been passionate about deliveries since I became pregnant with my first son in 2005 and trained in France regarding birth positioning in 2005 and 2007. The majority of pelvic floor damage is caused during childbirth and I truly desired, as a physiotherapist, for women to learn and understand how we could help our own body to give birth without creating too much strain and damage on our pelvic organ support (pelvic floor and fascias).
My aim is helping each woman cultivate a strong sense of confidence in her body during the birthing process and guide her through her journey using a range of mind-body approaches and hands-on techniques.
Please call me or write me an email for further information regarding birth attendance information.
3. Postnatal Treatment:
4. Breastfeeding:
I work in collaboration with lactation consultants.
Physiotherapy treatment has been found to be very successful with management of mastitis and engorged breasts using a combination of ultrasound therapy, lymphatic drainage, taping and education on its management.
4. For all women:
